USA Day

“Working closely with U.S. exporters to find South China business partners is a huge part of the job at the U.S. Consulate Foreign Commercial Service”, said James Rigassio at the USA Day held at the 72nd PharmChina and 73rd API China.

USA Day is organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions with the support of the U.S. Commercial Service Guangzhou and the American Chamber of Commerce in South China. The event’s objective is to provide a global perspective of the pharmaceutical industry and present prospects in the U.S. market.

“Our goal is to establish and increase trade ties in Guangdong province because of its economic strength,” Mr. Rigassio, principal commercial officer, U.S. Commercial Service Guangzhou, told the participants. “We also focus on helping South China companies go global by investing in the USA.”

Harley Seyedin, president of American Chamber in South China, said the U.S. pharmaceutical industry remains bullish about the China market and would continue to export quality products, services, and technology to Guangdong. “It’s about facilitating the development of Guangdong’s health sector, and improving the lives of Chinese consumers,” Mr. Seyedin said.

Finance advisory company Deloitte and international commercial law firm Withers, provided an informative introduction to U.S. investment policy, taxation and regulations during the SelectUSA seminar, a U.S. Commercial Service program that promotes Chinese investment into the United States.
